Hey y'all!
Here is a little bit about my journey...

Kalyn Harewood is a dynamic Barbadian American composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and music producer residing in the Chicago area. Known for her intuitive approach to melody, harmony, and arrangement, Kalyn’s compositions are celebrated for their emotional depth and compelling storytelling. Her keen sensitivity to sound design and timbre enhances the overall impact of her music, creating rich, textured pieces that resonate deeply with audiences. After earning a degree in Vocal Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin Parkside, where she was commissioned to compose for the university’s Jazz and Vocal ensembles, Kalyn developed a passion for composing music that inspires social change. She further refined her skills with a Master’s degree in Music Composition from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Now working as a film composer, music producer and educator, Kalyn teaches voice, music production and songwriting lessons from her home studio and has worked as an adjunct professor of voice at UW Parkside. Kalyn is currently continuing her studies and pursuing an M.M. degree in Vocal Pedagogy from Carthage College. Kalyn's compositions are featured in films, podcasts, dance productions, and more. She has also self released multiple Albums/EPs. Through her work, Kalyn strives to blend artistry with purpose, using music to create both personal and societal transformation.
